Aqua Facts

- an 82 story mixed use skyscraper in Lakeshore East development;

- Aqua is, by this date, the largest project awarded to an American architectural firm headed by a woman: Jeanne Gang;

- the building will be the first one in Downtown Chicago to combine condos, apartments and a hotel;

- some of the balconies stretch out as much as 12 feet (3.7 meters) providing a wave-like facade to the building; this, of course, was intentionally designed; this together with the name Aqua were chosen to reflect the building’s location next to Lake Michigan.

Two more US Flags

Two US flags which I honestly don’t remember where they are. I might have been on one of the boats offering tours of of the city on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. One thing is for sure: you can spot one of the Marina Towers.

Art In Front Of The Museum Of Contemporary Art

Art in front of the Museum Of Contemporary Art

One cool piece of art in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art. It has been on display throughout the summer of 2007. They did a great job making it look real.

This picture has been taken from one of the double deckers that give tourists a tour of the city. If you’re ever here visiting Chicago, I highly recommend you take one of these tours as well as one of the boats that take you on the river and out on Lake Michigan. They’re really worth their money.

Chicago Skyline (1)

Chicago Skyline

The Southern part of the Chicago Skyline (seen from Lake Michigan on a cloudy/rainy day). You can easily notice the Sears Tower and the AON Center.
